The Chabot women's basketball team broke through in a big way with its first Coast-North win of the season, 96-41 over visiting Las Positas on Friday night, Jan. 17.

Gladiators coach Mark Anger described the blowout as a "good bounce-back" win. Chabot bombed in 14 three-pointers and was led by sophomore Zakiya Mahoney's double-double of 31 points and 11 rebounds, to go with eight steals and three assists. She was an impressive 14 of 16 from the field.

Nyah Willis nearly had a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. Adorah Buggs was solid off the bench with 14 points (7 of 12 from the floor).

Chabot (1-2, 15-6) will look to keep it rolling this week at Ohlone on Wednesday, Jan. 22 and at home against College of San Mateo on Friday, Jan. 24.

Las Positas freshman Bianca Camello paced the Hawks with 26 points but was just 8 of 27 from the floor.
