GLADS TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS
The Chabot baseball team swept games against City College of San Francisco and De Anza last week to move into a tie for first place in the Coast-North Conference.
The Glads crushed CCSF 16-4 and then walloped De Anza 13-6, scoring seven in the top of the top of the ninth to put it away.
Against De Anza, Daniel Behrmann was 2 for 3 with two RBI, and Tyson Brown was 2 for 5 with an RBI. Daniel Hernandez worked seven strong innings, allowing two hits and striking out six.
Against CCSF, the Glads pounded out 15 hits in another blowout of the Rams.
Chabot's Joshua Vonnegut was 3 for 4 with two doubles. TJ Costello was 3 for 3 with three RBI. Evan Black doubled and drove in two.
Reliever Jackson Garcia struck out one and allowed no runs over one inning.
It will all boil down to a three-team shootout among Coast-North co-leaders Chabot (26-11, 14-4) and Skyline (28-9, 14-4) and third-place CSM (23-13, 13-5) over the final two games of conference play to decide the champion.
The Glads will host CSM on Tuesday , April 22, and Skyline on Thursday, April 24, both at 2:30 p.m. at Steve Friend Stadium.
