FORD ADDS SIZZLE TO CHABOT
Chabot freshman Tariq Ford, who ran for 96 yards and a touchdown in last week's loss to De Anza, ranks 11th in the state in rushing yards with 480 over 5 games.
Ford, averaging 96.0 yards rushing a game, scored the Glads' lone touchdown on a 57-yard run in the first quarter.
De Anza (5-0), currently ranked 24th in the state, took the victory 44-10 at Mt. Eden High on Saturday.
Chabot dropped to 1-4.
The young Glads will look to regroup during a bye week before traveling to Siskiyous (3-2) on Oct. 11.
Chabot will host Contra Costa at Mt. Eden High in its American-Pacific 7 opener on Oct. 18.
Chabot's Kemani Blackmon had two receptions for 65 yards, highlighted by a 59-yard catch from QB Yan Arias.
Ymer Belvine and Trevaughn Bailey had interceptions.
Gerardo Zavala-Rangel had a team-high seven tackles, and JJ Sporleder had six tackles and 0.5 sacks.
