FORD MAKING STATEMENTS

Chabot freshman running back Tariq Ford is No. 11 in the state in rushing, averaging 95.2 yards a game.
 
Ford has 571 yards rushing and six touchdowns over six games. He carried 25 times for 91 yards (3.6 avg.) in Saturday's 22-14 loss to Contra Costa College at Mt. Eden High.
 
Salesi Moala led the Chabot defense with seven tackles and a forced fumble. Kali Moa had an interception.
 
The Glads led 14-7 at the half after two TDs in the second quarter, on a 1-yard run by quarterback Yan Arias and a 2-yard TD reception by Junior Maopraseuth from Jalen Frenchwood, but the Comets prevailed with two unanswered TDs in the second half. Chabot's young defense was solid overall.
 
Chabot (1-6, 0-2 American-Pacific-7) travels to Los Medanos (6-1, 1-1) on Saturday, Oct. 25
