Strength and Honor!
The Chabot College Gladiators Men's Soccer team sits at 4-3-2 overall and 1-1 in Coast Conference play after opening their league schedule with two very different matches.
Conference Opener: Hartnell
The Gladiators battled hard in their Coast Conference opener against perennial contender Hartnell College, ultimately falling 3-1. The match was tightly contested, with Chabot creating chances throughout and staying within striking distance until the Panthers sealed the result with a third goal in the final ten minutes.
Bouncing Back at Monterey Peninsula
Chabot responded in emphatic fashion in their second conference game, delivering a dominant 9-0 win at Monterey Peninsula College. It was a true team performance with contributions across the lineup.
Two standouts shined brightest:
-
Jesus "Chuy" Lua Amaya scored once and set up two more goals, showcasing his creativity and energy in the attack.
-
Samuel Enguidanos found the net twice and added an assist, continuing his strong run of form as a leader in midfield.
The result not only gave the Gladiators their first conference win but also highlighted the team's ability to play collectively, blending sharp passing combinations with unified defensive effort.
From the Coach
Coach Aguiar praised the group's performance and growth:
"Yesterday was a strong effort, we saw some moments of incredible team play, defending as a group and passing combinations. Hopefully we can carry that momentum forward… As One!"
Looking Ahead
Next up, the Gladiators hit the road to face Cañada College this Friday. The Colts present a strong test, and Chabot will look to build on their momentum from Monterey Peninsula as they continue their pursuit of conference success.
Go Gladiators!
