Chabot track enjoys fast start
The Chabot College men's and women's track and field teams delivered strong efforts at the Wildcat Invitational on Friday at Merritt College.
The men's team was led by Jamal Perry and Cameron Jones, and the women were paced by Narayah Anderson-Brown and Haley Perez.
Perry won the 100 meter and 200 races with times of 10.57 seconds and 21.59, both times reaching the 'A' Standard for the state.
Cameron Jones took first in the triple jump with a mark of 14.53 meters (47'8"), also earning an 'A' Standard. Mateo Moore placed first in the shot put with a personal record of 12.04m (39'6").
In women's action, Haley Perez was first in the 800 (2:28.26). Returning sprinter Anderson-Brown prevailed in the 200m (25.43).
This week, Chabot will compete in the Diablo Valley College Hall of Fame meet.
"We have as good mixture of returners and incoming freshmen," Chabot head coach Dooney Jones said. "We are looking forward to see what our new look team can do."
