GLADS SIZZLE IN NORCALS
Chabot sensation Jamal Perry ran a stunning time of 10.34 seconds in taking first place in the men's 100 meters at the 3C2A Northern California Track and Field Championships at Santa Rosa College.
The mark, No. 2 all time at Chabot, ranks him No. 2 in the state for community colleges this season. Perry led an impressive cast of Chabot College Track & Field qualifiers for the 3C2A State Championships, May 15-16 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
Levi Harte also finished first in the long jump at 23 feet, 9.75, ninth all time at Chabot.
Perry was also fourth in the 200 at 21.57.
Cameron Jones was first in the triple jump with a 48-1.25. His PR of 50-2 places him third all-time at Chabot.
The Chabot men's 4x100 relay placed second with a time of 41.11. The Glads were without Harte, out with a slight hamstring strain, but he should be back for the state meet.
Freshman Christian Hauge, who was fifth in the 100 and 200, will have to wait for the results from Southern California next weekend to see if he gets into the state meet. He was impressive in Friday's NorCal trials, posting a 10.48 in the 100 — fifth all time at Chabot — and 21.47 in the 200. Both were personal records.
