GLADS SHOW SPIRIT ON SPECIAL DAY
The Chabot softball team made Sophomore Day a beautiful day on the diamond. The Glads showed a lot of spirit in a loss to San Jose City.
Chabot battled back from a 3-0 deficit in the first inning. Kimberly Garcia reached base with a hard-hit shot into the gap. Sisa Fonua followed with a two-run home run on a full count. San Jose broke it open with eight in the top of the third, but Chabot battled to the finish.
Aracely Macias Delgado and Liliana Mendoza Cortez followed with singles.
Connie Rodriguez was solid in the outfield making three big put-outs in center.
Garcia, in just her second college game behind the plate, assisted pitcher Karina Longoria in four strikeouts.
Chabot reliever Ashleigh Wyatt worked two scoreless innings.
