GLADS TAKE IT OUT ON MARIN
The Chabot women's soccer team rebounded from an off game in a big way.
The Gladiators (4-1) routed Marin 9-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 16, after falling to Las Positas 3-0 on Friday, Sept. 12. Kiana Ayllon led the way with a hat trick and an assist. Abigail Lopez had two goals and an assist. Elizabeth Tapia had two assists.
Talk about a bounce-back effort.
"This was much better and although against a team finding their feet, we executed our shots very well and were able to move the ball through the midfield with some quality," Chabot head coach Daniel Chubbock said. "There were still moments when we looked vulnerable to the counter attack, but a solid performance."
He hopes the team will take its positive play into its next game against tough Los Medanos on Friday at Chabot (1:30 p.m.).
The loss to host Las Positas was one of those things that happens in soccer. The Hawks turned a 1-0 halftime lead into a 3-0 triumph
"A poor performance from us," Chubbock said. "Didn't get going at all. Seemed like we all decided to have a bad day together. I expect us to react in the right way when we play them in conference."
Also scoring against Marin were Alekxa Gonzalez-Serrano, Yocelin Bolvito-Perez, Alexa Perez, and Keyla Ramirez.
