Chabot women split a pair
The Chabot women's tennis team split a pair of matches this week, blanking Canada College 9-0 and falling to Cabrillo 6-3.
Against Canada College, Mina Koloski and Karina Smith defeated Simpson & Nguyen, 8-2 in doubles. Minh Cannon and Gracie Barco beat Gutierrez and Yeremian, 8-0.
In singles, Koloski swept Phuong Nguyen, 6-0, 6-0. Gracie Barco beat Skyler Simpson, 6-1, 6-0. Samantha Bucton defeated Anahid Yeremian, 6-4, 6-0.
Maria Ramos beat Cande Gutierrez, 7-5, 1-0 (retired). Jenny Vo beat Karolina Krijcova, 6-1, 6-1.
Against Cabrillo, Koloski and Bare won in doubles. Koloski also won in singles over Nikka Lobastov 6-1, 6-3. Minh Cannon beat Lexi Bare, 6-1, 6-1.
The Glads (5-1, 3-1 conference) will travel to Southern California for three matches, facing Fresno City on Thursday and then traveling to the Palm Desert area for a match against College of the Desert Friday morning.
Then the team will spend the rest of the day at the BNP Paribas Tennis Open Tournament at Indian Wells Tennis Garden, watching the pros. Saturday, the Glads travel to face SoCal power Orange Coast College.
