GOWDA FIFTH IN NORCAL RUN
Chabot runner Medha Gowda finished in fifth place at the NorCal Cross Country Championships
Chabot runner Medha Gowda finished in fifth place at the NorCal Cross Country Championships at Toro Park in Salinas today.
She had a time of 19 minutes, 34 seconds over 3.0 miles to advance to the State Championships in Fresno on Nov. 23.
Chabot had kind of a tough time in the 4.0-mile men's race. Standout Dylan Baptista had stomach problems around the 3-mile mark and did not finish. The Glads settled for 14th place as a team during a rebuilding season under new coach Dooney Jones.
"We'll just regroup and prepare for track," Jones shared. "All of the other guys ran PRs, which is encouraging."
Here are Chabot's individual results:
55th - Won Chio- 23:02
70th - Jhann Gonzalez- 23:36
84th - Kai Emerson- 24:27
85th - Matt Atienza- 25:36
94th - Ariel Encannacion. 27:22
DNF - Dylan Baptista
