The Chabot women's basketball team continued its bright start to the season with an 80-54 rout of Victor Valley on Nov. 11 in the consolation final of the Santa Barbara tournament.
Zakiya Mahoney paced the Gladiators with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds. Ferryn Steen had 10 boards off the bench. Mia Finnie had 11 points and Kendra Jueitt added 10 points.
The Gladiators (3-1) also notched a quality win over College of San Mateo 76-65 on Nov. 10, nailing it down with an 18-13 run over the fourth quarter. Indiya Williams led the charges with 18 points off the bench. Jueiit had 10 points and five steals and Mahoney, who had a big tournament, had 16 points and 8 boards
